Descrição
Resumo:[EN] Lean Manufacturing philosophy is a methodology that consists in continuous improvement by eliminating non-value-adding activities (referred as waste) from a manufacturing process, while maximizing productivity. A proper lesson in Lean Manufacturing requires more than an expositive lesson, where knowledge is transmitted in a conceptual mode, due to the fact that it is eminently practical. Its application demands transversal competencies and soft skills, such as the ability to solve problems, communication, and teamwork. Thus, active learning methodologies in which the students take an active part in the learning process through exploration, critical thinking, discussion, problem-solving and collaboration are more adequate. This work presents a virtual training activity for teaching Lean Manufacturing, based on the methodology of game-based learning, and which can be implemented as professional training within the companies as well as in Engineering courses at the University, and in a computer room or in a virtual session. The activity has already been implemented in an Engineering course of the University of Zaragoza with excellent results.
