Sumario:The purpose of these study is to discribe research results that investigate social impression about people who stutters´ (PWS) speech and to discuss relevant outcomes to the clinical practice. The methodology is descriptive of quali-quantitative approach, based on revision of the literature on the theme. 436 articles were found, 26 of which were selected for analysis. All analyzed researches indicated relevant outcomes, which should be introduced to clinical practice, strengthening counseling techniques related to the PWS’s attitudes as well as therapeutic goals that promote speech fluency.
