Currently, both society and education are experiencing a transformational process supported by a rapid technological progress that has provided new ways of interacting and relating to each other. Regarding the evolution of education, it has involved the incursion of new teaching-learning methodologies of active character such as gamification. Thus, the main goal of this research was to present an intervention proposal based on learning through a game, specifically, an escape room framed in the mathematics field. With the above, the authors intended to observe both the progress and the acquisition of specific and cooperative academic skills by the students. Hence, through the analysis of the methodological applicability of gamification and escape room techniques in primary education, the researchers conducted an investigation based on meta-evaluation on the ontological (studied reality), epistemological (what, who, why, and why teach) and, mainly, methodological level. From the perspective of two professors with the roles of Observer 1 participant and Observer 2 external, the authors reached the following results and conclusions. First, the use of this type of methodologies positively influences the acquisition of mathematical skills. In addition, not only was there an improvement in the cooperative environment in the classroom, but also motivation was increased. Thus, it is invited to reflect on the need to continue developing pedagogical transformation actions in the classroom to adapt teaching to the demands and demands of today’s society. |

Hoy en día tanto la sociedad como la educación viven un momento de transformación, apoyada principalmente en el rápido progreso tecnológico que ha proporcionado nuevas formas de interactuar. Además, en el caso particular de la educación, este proceso de transformación ha supuesto la incursión de nuevas metodologías de enseñanza-aprendizaje de carácter activo entre las que se encuentra la gamificación. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo fue presentar una propuesta de intervención, basada en el aprendizaje mediante el juego, específicamente, el de un escape room que se enmarca en el área de Matemáticas, con el fin de poder observar el progreso y adquisición de competencias académicas específicas y cooperativas por parte del alumnado. Para esto, se llevó a cabo una investigación acción basada en la metaevaluación sobre el nivel ontológico (realidad estudiada), epistemológico (qué, quién, por qué y para qué enseñar) y, principalmente, metodológico mediante el análisis de la aplicabilidad metodológica de las técnicas de gamificación y escape room en Educación Primaria. Para ello, se contó con una muestra de 20 estudiantes de 2º curso de Educación Primaria de un Centro Educativo público de la ciudad de Zaragoza, España. El 40% eran chicos y un 60% chicas. Como resultados y conclusiones principales se señala que el uso de este tipo de metodologías influyó positivamente en la adquisición de competencias matemáticas, además, se dio una mejora del ambiente cooperativo del aula e incremento de la motivación. Todo ello, evaluado desde la perspectiva de dos personas docentes con los roles de Observador 1 participante y Observador 2 externo. Esto implica la reflexión sobre la necesidad de continuar desarrollando actuaciones de transformación pedagógica en el aula, con el fin de adaptar la enseñanza a las exigencias y demandas de la sociedad actual.
