Sumario:Currently chronic diseases linked to obesity have been increasing in México. The deterioration in health and discrimination that appear in consequence of this disease contribute to the appearance of anxiety disorders that perpetuate it. A technique that has shown its effectiveness in anxiety is Mindfulness, which consists of the acceptance of emotions, cognitions and sensations but not their modification. The purpose of the present study was to explore  the associations between the specific facets of mindfulness (observe, describe, not judge, act with awareness and non-reactivity) and the dimensions of anxiety (anxiogenic situations, anxiety responses) in the adult population with morbid obesity, identifying its usefulness as a mitigating factor with said group. This is a exploratory retrospective ex post facto study of a group with multiple measures. The sample was non-probabilistic by quota, having 7 patients from 22 to 50 years of age in an Obesity Clinic in Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas. The results showed that there is a strong negative correlation between the facet of mindfulness of non-reactivity and the dimensions of anxiety (motor anxiety, evaluation anxiety, interpersonal anxiety and anxiety of everyday life).
