| Sumario: | The environmental occurrences are not limited to incidents solely of human initiative or responsibility, although conservation, preservation, and monitoring are intrinsic responsibilities concerning sustainability. Records of environmental occurrences originate from various sources that monitor, certify, and often penalize, with the overarching goal of preserving the environment and ensuring its balance. Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate the entities that record environmental occurrences based on disasters, both natural and technological, which cause incidents of significant proportion, impacting not only nature or the environment but society as a whole. The primary purpose is to identify the types of records or fields of records structured in these databases, highlighting and quantifying these occurrences. Once the institutions, whether national or foreign, that record disasters for Brazil were selected, and based on exploratory and explanatory methodology, the research began using official databases originating from the Brazilian integrated system S2iD and the international disaster database, EM-DAT. This research encompassed the content, structure, and organization, allowing the understanding of environmental occurrences in the form of natural and technological disasters, considering whether they are positive or negative for the environment. |
