| Sumario: | This article focuses on the carnival party organized by the GTA server Roleplay Cidade Alta in February 2021, sponsored by brands such as Tinder, Engov, and Trident. Cidade Alta represents here a starting point to develop the idea of the gamer scene, applying Will Straw's concept of scenes to this phenomenon, as well as its application in games in Sara Grimes' article, and the connection between playfulness and culture, as proposed by Huizinga. The methodologies used are virtual ethnography in broadcasts by streamers on Twitch; analysis of journalistic articles published in the press, including the virtual ethnography conducted by journalist Matheus Fernandes for the Start UOL portal; and monitoring content produced by AltaNews, Cidade Alta's news portal. The GTA Roleplay analyzes' were made based on José Messias' concept of gambiarra. |
