Sumario:Introduction: Obesity is a chronicle disease resultant of the exorbitance deposal of fatness in the adipocytes. It presents a high and prevalence and brings serious damages to a person’s health and also to a country economy, becoming very urgent its control. Its etiology is complex and multi factorial and involves an interaction between genetic and environmental factors, being the former factors dominant and predominant over the latter ones. Assuming a continuous healthy life style characterized by a balanced diet and the inclusion of physical exercises is a fundamental and integrant part of any obesity treatment intervention. Objective: The purpose of the present work is to review, the scientific literature from the last 10 years, the efficient combination with physical exercises and nutritional therapy in the obesity treatment aiming the loss of weight. Literature review: The nutritional therapy includes nourishing reeducation and the implementation of a balanced hypo caloric diet for the consequential healthy loss of weight. Physical exercises maximizes the energetic loss and encourages a higher loss of weight and fatness. Besides it preserves and increases the low fat mass, minimizing the collapse of the rest metabolic taxes during the hypo caloric diets. Conclusion: Nourishing control associated with physical exercises is efficient to prevent and treat overweight and obesity and must be incorporated as a habit for life.
