description Pedagogical games in chemistry teaching can contribute to learning, as they provide a playful environment, where the student has fun and learns. This work aims to analyze the game Escape Room (escape room) as a pedagogical game in the light of game theory, using the Functions of the Pedagogical Game as categories of analysis. Characteristics of this game such as richness, dynamism and innovation, in a mystery environment, in which students need to solve riddles to escape from a certain location are present in the Escape Room. The Public were students of the Degree in Chemistry at the Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG), the contents addressed were from the first year of high school. The research is characterized as qualitative. Data were analyzed using the Content Analysis method. The results show that it is possible to identify the functions of the pedagogical game, Evaluative Educational Function, diagnostic capacity of the game, Formative Educational Function, ability of the game to promote conceptual discussion, Immersive Playful Function, ability of the game to promote immersion, Moral Playful Function, ability of the game to allow students to play as equals, respecting the rules and the Teacher's Balance Function, responsible for balancing the four functions.

Este trabalho objetiva analisar o jogo escape room (sala de fuga) como jogo pedagógico à luz da teoria de jogos, utilizando as funções do jogo pedagógico como categorias de análise. Riqueza, dinamismo e inovação em um ambiente de mistério no qual os alunos precisam solucionar enigmas para escapar de determinado local são características presentes nesse jogo. O público foram alunos do curso de Licenciatura em Química do Instituto Federal de Ciências e Tecnologia de Goiás (IFG) e os conteúdos abordados foram do 1º ano do ensino médio. A pesquisa se caracteriza como qualitativa. Os dados foram analisados utilizando o método da análise de conteúdo. Os resultados mostram que é possível identificar as funções do jogo pedagógico: Função Educativa Avaliativa (capacidade de diagnóstico do jogo), Função Educativa Formativa (capacidade do jogo de promover discussão conceitual), Função Lúdica Imersiva (capacidade do jogo de promover imersão), Função Lúdica Moral (capacidade do jogo de permitir que os alunos joguem como iguais, respeitando as regras) e Função de Equilíbrio do Professor, responsável por equilibrar as quatro funções.
